how to connect my phone to my home office (vpn, wireguard, fritzbox)

usage

I want remote access to several home ressources (synology, webcam, smarthome) using my android phone.

The solution for me is using wireguard between the phone and my fritzbox.

configuration

fritzbox

  • activate MyFritz account to get a DNS Entry

  • create a WireGuard VPN (single connection)

phone

  • install WireGuard App

  • use app to add VPN Connection via QA Code shown on fritzbox

O2 Provider / m-net (DNS not resolved)

I had the problem that my mobile provider had ip4 activated only, the fritbox had a ip6 fiber connection via m-net. I needed to switch the O2 (fonic) APN configuration to IP6 to get wireguard to connect.

Changes on my phone: - mobile network / advanced / APN / APN Protocol / switch to IP6. - save
